Study skills module learning objective is to develop fundamentals skills that will benefit not only academically but also future jobs requirements. For example presentation and how to put our views and points across this it will help develop confidence and build self-esteem.

Can you list other important study skills and traits that I have missed?

Play

Elizabeth our Module leader discussed this assignment that we had to write, direct and act a 10 minutes play based on university life.  I had mixed feelings towards this brief mainly worried and confused due to the fact that I have never attempted to write a play even thou it was for 10 minutes there is still a lot of concept that are similar to a full play that needed to be achieved. I was very excited because I attended drama lesson outside school throughout secondary and college years with high confident when performing in front of an audience.

Here are steps that helped me prepared for the task in hand

1.  Read short stories from university library and on line
2. Watched 10 minutes play on YouTube
3. Watched films with similar story lines (love and basketball) (Coach Carter)

Group Work
The topic of this assignment is to use different methods that will help the group identify of essential math’s skills, science and technology students have difficulty with and ways to solve their difficulty is a factory that I strongly believe will help benefit students in years to come. Before assigning roles and Responsibilities we each had to give a solution to a scenario "if a member of our group wasn't turning up to lectures and seminars and missing meetings how would we handle this.

Manager (Serder) "speak to the group and decide collectively what we  should do to ensure this doesn't slow our momentum"

Assistant manager (Robert Barbiah) "try to motivate the member and encourage him that we are here to help"

Secretary (Emmanuel Peters)" he has great organizational  skills being able to keep track of weekly task and discussion great listener and can multitask by taking notes during meetings and Skype parties".

Researcher (Leo Green) “he thinks that he will be most useful in this line of work and find useful ideas and facts to help the group”

Researcher (Beatrice Odunisi)"

We decided on meeting times when the whole group were available and were already in university before as we would meet up straight after a lectures this will ensure that no member would be late and we could discuss key matters during lunch keeping brains hydrated and alert feeding hunger as many of us miss breakfast.
